Scott earned a place on CREWS most Corrupt in 2007, when they uncovered personal tax evasion of $23,200 and family company tax evasion of $158,600. After exposure, Scott indicated that he eventually paid the taxes but, as with all government officials, did not face charges.
Misuse of political funds involved diversion of $125,000 to family members and $500,000 to his family business.
Misuse of political position involved use of federally paid congressional staff and resources on personal re-election campaign.
