According to the Washington Post, Reid accepted ringside boxing tickets three times while related legislation was under consideration. He also accepted money from Indian tribe clients of convicted lobbyist Abramoff and his partners then wrote letters supporting the clients, worked on legislation on behalf of the clients or granted personal audiences for the client legislative action pitches.

According to Captains Quarters, Reid helped arrange through legislation for the relocation of federal power-line right of way and the lifting of environmental protective building restrictions on land owned by a generous campaign contributor in order to clear the way for development.
